The Marae Experience...

We had a wonderful experience of making our own Marae as well as experiencing the real thing. Below are some movies we made and photos we took at the Marae.

A snippet of Postive Assembly

Every Friday morning we enjoy coming as a school together and sharing our achievements.  We have a prize box for people whose names get pulled out of a positive box.  It's very exciting if your name gets pulled out of the box.

The other very special thing we do is give out a 'Toolkit' award.  There is usually one or two special people who have been acknowledged by celebrating their learning.

Parents are very welcome to join us at Positive Assembly any week.
The assembly starts at 9.10 and goes for approximately 35 minutes.

Painting caterpillars and butterflies

We have been learning about how caterpillars change into butterflies.  This process is called Metamorphosis...
Here is a butterfly that has been tagged for an experiment to see what butterflies do and where they go.  Check out the link to find out more about this experiment.

Look at the butterfly that has just emerged from its chrysalis

This caterpillar became a chrysalis in a pretty funny spot!  Can you see it?

We are swimmers!

Our favourite thing is SWIMMING!

A busy Friday

Today we decided to become astronauts and we tried 'space ice cream!' Wow, it felt hard and went sticky when we ate it, the flavours were chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.

After munching on space ice cream we decided to become artists.  We are drawing the Redwood Tree.

Stand Tall, Reach High, Tū Tāngata, Tū Māia!

We are standing tall in our learning, as high as the Redwood Tree...
