The Marae and Hot Air Ballooning at Hamilton East School

We went to the Marae, here we are on the bus...

In the bus...

At the Marae...

The meeting house...

The spine and ribs inside the meeting house

A hot air balloon came and visited Hamilton East School.  Have a look at our pictures.

It was freezing cold watching the balloon being blown up.

The fire is filling the balloon with air so it can go high in the sky.

Up, up and away!

The balloon is deflating.

We have had such a busy week...

Thank you Visique Total Vision for our cool sunglasses...

Class Photos

It was really exciting getting ready for class photos.
First we had to line up from tallest to shortest, then the photographer told us where to stand.

We had to smile our very best smile.
We even said "Cheese" to make our smiles really big!

See if you can recognise everyone in Room 3..

Getting ready to be put in the right spot for the photo.

A bright flash goes off when the photo is taken.

Up, up and away!

Balloons over Waikato is just around the corner and we are fortunate to have a hot air balloon coming to visit us at Hamilton East School.

Remember to come early to school next Friday the 28th March to see a balloon getting to ready to take off...
We have been taking off in our classroom too...

We are flying high in the sky...

Up, up and away we go....

Our cat likes to hide in boxes...
This is one of our favourite stories that we read  whenever we have a spare minute in Room 3.

We make sure we practise our letter formation everyday.

We are focussed learners!

Autumn is here!

What a great start Room 3 has had to the year.

We have been busy swimming.

Our butterfly reading corner!

Our whole class can fit around our circle table.  We have been having oral language sessions.
First we get a paper bag, add an object to it, feel it, squeeze it, describe it, then see if we can guess what it might be without looking inside the bag.  It's a lot of fun.

We are learning to take turns and problem solve in maths activities.

Our Poem this week is:

Four Seasons
Winter, spring, summer, autumn.
There are four seasons.
I know them all.

Winter is cold and the wind does blow!
Spring is when the daffodils grow.
Summer is when I wear short sleeves.
Autumn is when I rake the leaves.
