Taakaro Time

Every Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon Rooms 5&6 open the doors between the classrooms to enjoy sharing the space for Taakaro Time.  Taakaro means 'to play'.  

We believe that learning through play is a key ingredient to a successful New Entrant, Year one classroom.  I think the students would agree with this also.  Here are a few pictures and a movie to celebrate our students learning.

Term 4 - The Zoo

Welcome back everyone, we have a busy term ahead.

Our Zoo trip organisation is in full swing and notices went home today.

It is on Tuesday 1st November from 9-2.30 pm.  If you need more information, please see me.

As you will see from our pictures, we are learning about habitats and environments.

Our specific focus is

Grasslands, Wetlands, Desert, Bush.  

Come and see our mural taking shape over the next few weeks.

We had an impressive brainstorm and Room 5 students came up with a lot of animals and where they lived.  We are looking forward to seeing some of these animals at the Zoo.

An Ambulance came to visit Hamilton East School...

We learnt today about Paramedics who help us.  

We learnt that an Ambulance can help you get to hospital.

We learnt that Ambulances have beds and medicine to help people who are in trouble or sick...

And we learnt that Ambulances have VERY LOUD sirens!!!!

We have been learning to recognise these words and write 'I am' ourselves...

Cross Country

 We loved running in the cross country.   We liked watching out for each other and making sure everyone was ok!

I loved seeing my mum watching me race.  Cohen
