We thank all those grandparents who were able to join us last Thursday in Room 4. We had an enjoyable morning singing waiata, sharing our learning and spending time together making craft activities with our grandparents.
For me, it was truly a delight to meet all the many grandparents and special loved ones who play such an important role in the lives of the students’ I teach. Thank you for giving up your time and joining us.
This term we have been learning about role models. We have been thinking about 'who' our role models are and most importantly 'why' someone is our role model. On Friday March 26th our whole school raised money for the KidsCan charity by dressing up as a role model they admire.

This week there was much squealing and delight as Room 4s tamariki splashed about in our newly retiled swimming pool.

The tamariki in Room 4 have had a fun first few days getting to know each other. Together, we brainstormed our class treaty promises and rules to ensure we have a happy, kind environment to do our best work in this year.

My name is Rachael Tyler and I am looking forward to being your child's teacher this year.
This is my ninth year teaching primary school students and my third year teaching at Hamilton East School.
I am the leader of the Kākāpō Hub (Rooms 4, 5 & 6) which is part of the overall Kowhai Team.
