Rapunzel

We watched a show called Rapunzel...
The actors and actress was very clever at acting many different characters.
Pinochio's nose grew longer, it was funny to watch!

Simon Cowell (Cow) wasn't a nice man, he was a meanie and didn't say very nice things.  He actually made people feel sad and hurt!

Jack and the beanstalk...

We liked Rapunzel, we thought she was a kind person with beautiful hair and a lovely voice!

Rapunzel's sister wasn't very kind either and wanted to be famous!

Simon Cowell (cow) locked Rapunzel in the tower so she couldn't use her voice!

Jack was seriously cool, he was a rapper and he taught Rapunzel how to rap!

The king was not happy, he did not like his son to rap...

In the end, Rapunzel lived happily ever after...

Room 3 really enjoyed this show...Thank you New Zealand Playhouse for sharing it with us all.

Something funny happened in Room 3...

We have been writing stories about funny things that have happened to us...
This morning something funny happened in our class, we had quite a surprise when we had a new member in Room 3...

She was fluffy and white, calm and peaceful and said 'meow'!

She wasn't very good at writing and drawing though...
Imagine that...a cat that could draw!
I wonder if she will come to school another day...we hope so!

Road Safety Puppet Show

We had some puppets come to Hamilton East School to tell us all about road safety.
We looked at the signs that are all around us.

We talked about when it is safe to take your seatbelt off.

This puppet told us about how we should cross the road and be safe.

Here we all are watching and learning!

This possum puppet told us about how his friend got run over and he helped us understand that we need to cross the road with an adult.

This is Elmo's cousin and he was the 'Stop' monster!

Welcome back to school for a busy Term 3!

Keep checking the blog for weekly postings...

More Weaving and Happy Holidays...

It has been such a busy term...

We were fortunate to have one of our wonderful parents show us how to weave using flax.
It is quite different to weaving with paper.

Here are our weavings made with paper.

Happy Holidays to everyone in Room 3 and Hamilton East School.
We look forward to seeing you back rested and ready for learning in Term 3.

Buddy Weaving for Matariki and Puppets...

Making Puppets...

We like drawing the puppets and colouring them in.  We like playing with our puppets.

 Buddy Weaving for Matariki
We enjoyed learning about Matariki.
The kowhai team sung a song in assembly called Tirama tirama nga whetu (Twinkle twinkle little star)
Under and over...

"I'll do it"!

Our buddies were very helpful when we got confused or stuck!  Thanks Room 10

Yummy lunchboxes and the cello

We have been learning about the best things to put in our lunchboxes.

We LOVE banannas!

We brought our lunchboxes into our class to see what we had in them.  It was fun to talk about all our food...YUMMY!

We also LOVE apples, do you?
We were very fortunate to have a teacher at our school come and play the cello to us.

We learnt that the cello is played with a 'bow' made of horsehair.

The cello sounded soft and beautiful.  It made us feel happy inside.  The music was soft and floaty not like the drums!

We then drew the cello, come and see our pictures on the wall.

The cello has lots of curves to draw.  It's quite a tricky instrument to draw.
