Nutrition Lessons with Project Energize

Project Energize have been coming to Hamilton East School to teach us about what food and drink we put into our bodies and if what we are eating is the right thing....

It's been very interesting...

We have been learning about what to eat for breakfast.  It is very interesting learning which cereals are the best for us without too much sugar.

These are the foods we can have everyday, these foods give us a good start to help us learn.

These foods are every so often choices, they contain some sugar, but not as much as the cereals below...

These foods are treats as they contain a lot of sugar... 

Have a look and see what you eat and drink at home...are they the best choices?  Next week we are looking at what goes into our lunchboxes...

Room 3 liked all of the drums, the 'can' song, the 'fire' song and the song that the Hamilton East School children played with the performers.

It was SO loud!

We recently had a super hero from ASB bank come to school to tell us all about being wise with our money.

She explained to us the difference between a 'need' and a 'want'!

Harvest Festival

We are busy making things for our Harvest Festival on Friday.

Dugan is carving our pumpkin.

We are getting the seeds out.

It felt squishy!

We all had a turn getting the seeds out!

We would like to plant our seeds and grow another pumpkin.

We are making cheese and tomato kebabs for sharing at the Harvest Festival

We are making a kebab.

We are learning how to make the kebabs.

Everyone has a turn...

We can't wait to try our kebabs and hope the rest of Hamilton East School likes them.

A hot air balloon came and visited Hamilton East School.  Have a look at our pictures.

It was freezing cold watching the balloon being blown up.

The fire is filling the balloon with air so it can go high in the sky.
