Ko Rāapa tenei ra. Today is Wednesday 29th April
Remember everyone, do as little or as much as you can.

To begin each day, let’s start with the karakia

Activity 1: Floating and Sinking
Rhonda shared this floating and sinking activity, see what you can find at home and
have a go...what floats, what sinks, perhaps you can draw a picture on one piece of
paper all the things that sink, and on another piece of paper, all the things that float.
Does a rubber duck float? Or a ball? What about a toy car or rocks and stones?

Activity 2: Writing Activity:
Rhonda shared this wonderful poem with me, that I thought you would
enjoy. I’ve seen soooooooo many leaves floating around on my walks...
Read the Poem together.
Take a piece of paper and you could do a leaf rubbing and if you want a real challenge, copy the poem out and illustrate, just like you did with hot air
balloons.
Here are the instructions of how to do a leaf rubbing.

Activity 3: Learning all about our friend ’ing’...
Did you know that some words can be changed from one
word to another by using ‘ing’. For instance: ‘have’ can
become ‘having’. ‘Take’ can become ‘taking’. What happens
is we ‘drop’ the ‘e’ and put ‘ing’ instead...some
words don’t need to be changed, you just add the ‘ing, for example: ‘Look’, can become ‘looking’, ‘go’ can
become ‘going’...
Can you make a list of words that can have ‘ing’ added.
Here is a starting list:
going
taking
having
looking
