We had a fantastic trip to Mystery Creek.
We learnt about what life was like in the olden days.
When we got back to school we drew pictures
about what we saw during the trip.

We learnt about what children used to wear when
they went to school. Boys wore shirts and hats and
girls wore pinafores and bonnets.
They used to wear hats to keep the cooties from
jumping between childrens heads!
We found out how people used to wash their clothes by hand. We washed material against a scrubbing board and then squeezed the clothes through a mangler to dry the clothes (we had to watch out and make sure we didn't squeeze our fingers!).
There were no washing machines or dryers because
they had not been invented yet and there was no
electricity to do the job for us.
We really liked the big paper mache cow.
We learnt that you can make butter and cheese
and cream from the milk.
Earl showed us old photos and the old machines people used to use on the farm before motorbikes and tractors.
Earl also found a frog for us to have a look at.
He was hiding under the metal step.
Thank you to all the wonderful parent helpers
who came along on the day.
You are all superstar parents and we couldn't have done it without you!
